Case Study: The Thermal State of the Surface of the Blunt Delta Wing
In this case study we check the qualitative results about the radiation – adiabatic temperature, which we found so far in this chapter, and also the scaling law for laminar flow, by investigating the Navier-Stokes data computed for a generic configuration, the Blunt Delta Wing. This configuration is a very strongly simplified RV configuration flying at moderate angle of attack with fully laminar flow. A similar check is made in Sub-Section 7.3 with data computed for a CAV flying at low angle of attack, with laminar and turbulent flow portions.
