CHAPTER II – LIFT CHARACTERISTICS OF FOIL SECTIONS
The basic element of every wing or control surface and that of “vanes” and propeller blades, id est of all “lifting” devices (in air or in water), is the foil section. Lift – and pitching – moment characteristics of such sections, in two-dimensional fluid flow, are presented as follows, as a function of shape, skin friction and Reynolds number. [14] 2 [15] [16]
