Lockheed Martin redeems the producer of Sikorsky helicopters

The producer of arms of Lockheed Martin largest in the USA agreed with United Technologies corporation about purchase of the producer of planes, helicopters and other Sikorsky Aircraft aircraft for more than 8 billion dollars, Reuters transfers.

It will be, as expected, the largest transaction in the world market of the weapon since 2012 when United Technologies bought the producer of the Goodrich aviacomponents more than for 16 billion dollars, reminds Bloomberg agency.

After purchase of Sikorsky, the world leader in production of military helicopters, Lockheed will strengthen the status of the largest defensive concern of the world.

United Technologies intends to concentrate on creation of hi-tech production for the building and space industry.

The transaction, as expected, will be complete in the IV quarter 2015 or in the I quarter of the 2016th, depending on solutions of regulators.

The Sikorsky Aircraft company (in the past – Sikorsky Manufacturing Corporation) was based in 1923 by the known aircraft designer Igor Sikorsky (1889-1972) who has left Russia after revolution of 1917. The headquarters of corporation is in the city of Stratford in the State of Connecticut.

Among aircraft which Sikorsky Aircraft makes, the Black Hawk helicopters being on arms of army of the USA. Sikorsky revenue last year made 7,45 billion dollars.

On news about purchase of Sikorsky of the stock Lockheed Martin rise in price for 1,4 % during the preliminary auction on Monday at the exchange in New York. Since the beginning of year capitalization of the company grew by 4,4 %, to 63,63 billion dollars.
