The Russian Federation will deliver to Egypt 10 planes MS-21

The aircraft manufacturing corporation "Irkut" and the Egyptian holding KATO Investment signed the agreement on delivery of the Russian passenger MS-21 planes. The contract is signed during an air show Dubai by Airshou-2015, noted in the Russian company.

The Cairo Aviation airline (subsidiary KATO Investment) will receive 6 MS-21 medium-range aircrafts within a year. The agreement also provides an option for 4 more MS-21 liners.

Cost according to the catalog of one MS-21 liner makes about $85 million. The catalog price of one medium-haul MS-21 liner makes about $85 million Russia and Egypt also consider possibility of creation of the regional center for repair and service of MS-21 planes around the international airport "Al-Alameyn" (Al Alamain) in 184 km from Cairo. KATO Investment intends to transfer free of charge the area adjoining the airport, for placement of production constructions.

The organization of the center will create additional conditions for advance MS-21 to the region countries. KATO Investment – the large private investment holding having diversified business in Egypt and beyond its limits. The holding specializes on production of consumer goods, agriculture, tourism, air transportation, airport service. The structure of KATO Investment includes over 20 large companies. The Cairo Aviation airline maintains the Russian planes of Tu-204 family.

The Irkut corporation (as a part of OAK) as the head performer realizes the project on creation of the near and medium-haul MS-21 liner. The plane is designed in the Engineering center of. A.S. Yakovleva – the main design division of PAO "Irkut Corporation. At plant in Irkutsk the first MS-21 planes for flight and prochnostny tests are under construction.
